We are seeking an energetic and dedicated After-School Teacher to inspire and support children in their after-school hours. In this role, you will create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment where children can learn, play, and grow. Duties
- Supervise children during after-school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote learning, creativity, and physical activity
- Manage classroom behavior using effective behavior management strategies to maintain a positive environment
- Assist with homework help, tutoring, and skill-building exercises tailored to individual student needs
- Coordinate with parents, staff, and other caregivers to communicate student progress and address concerns
- Incorporate elements of special education or early childhood education as needed to support diverse learners
- Lead recreational activities such as sports coaching, arts and crafts, theater performances, or music sessions
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols including first aid procedures and emergency response plans
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp, tutoring, or babysitting is highly desirable
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to foster a respectful and inclusive atmosphere
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management techniques
- Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred; willingness to obtain if not already certified
- Experience with special education or working with students who have unique learning needs is a plus
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, and team members
- Passion for working with children and supporting their growth in a nurturing environment
