Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and welcoming Host/Hostess to be the first point of contact for our guests, creating a positive and memorable dining experience from the moment they arrive. Responsibilities
- Welcome guests warmly upon arrival, ensuring they feel valued and comfortable.
- Manage restaurant reservation systems and seating charts to optimize table turnover and guest flow.
- Answer incoming phone calls with professionalism, providing information about wait times or reservations.
- Coordinate with the service team to ensure smooth seating transitions and timely service.
- Maintain organized reservation records using restaurant table management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS.
- Assist in managing waitlists during busy hours while providing accurate estimated wait times.
- Uphold food safety standards and ensure cleanliness in the host/hostess station area.
- Provide exceptional guest relations by addressing questions or concerns promptly and courteously.
- Support overall restaurant operations by communicating effectively with team members and ensuring guest satisfaction.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a host/hostess or in food service is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for hospitality is essential.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and clear verbal interaction with guests and team members.
- Familiarity with restaurant reservation management software such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus.
- Basic math skills for handling reservations, seating calculations, and POS transactions.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper sanitation procedures.
- Ability to stand, walk, and remain alert for extended periods during shifts.
- Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly, positive attitude that enhances guest experiences.
