We are seeking a reliable and friendly school aide to join our team. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the well-being, safety, and satisfaction of children during meal times and throughout the day. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving meals, supervising children during lunch and recess periods, and performing basic custodial duties to maintain a clean and safe environment.
Responsibilities
Food Preparation & Serving:
- Prepare, portion, and serve meals and snacks in accordance with nutritional guidelines and safety standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and serving areas.
- Assist with setting up and cleaning food service areas before and after meals.
Child Supervision:
- Monitor and supervise children during meal times and recess, ensuring a safe and respectful environment.
- Promote positive behavior and assist in resolving minor conflicts.
- Communicate any incidents or concerns to the appropriate staff.
Custodial Duties:
- Perform light cleaning tasks, such as wiping down tables, sweeping floors, emptying trash, and restocking supplies.
- Ensure shared spaces (cafeteria, play areas, restrooms) are clean and well-maintained throughout the day.
- Follow health and safety protocols consistently.
Skills
- Experience working with children in various educational settings such as daycare or private schools.
- Strong skills in classroom management and behavior management techniques.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with students, parents, and colleagues.
