Position Overview:
The Supervising Paralegal / Director of Litigation Services will play a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of our litigation department. This executive-level position requires a highly motivated and experienced individual who can manage the attorney's calendar, ensure the efficient running of the department, and supervise all paralegals within the firm. The ideal candidate must possess strong leadership skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a proven track record of managing complex litigation matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise, mentor, and manage all paralegals within the litigation department, ensuring high-quality work and adherence to firm standards.
- Oversee the entire litigation process, from filing of the lawsuit through trial preparation, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Ensure the initial drafting and timely serving of complaints in all cases.
- Manage and maintain the attorney's calendar
- Ensure timely expert designation and provide litigation support in preparing expert witnesses for trial.
- Review and finalize case files, ensuring all necessary documentation is accurate, complete, and in compliance with legal standards.
- Monitor and track statute of limitations and ensure timely filings to avoid any legal risks.
- Ensure that discovery is properly managed and conducted by the paralegals, including overseeing document production, interrogatories, and depositions.
- Collaborate with attorneys to develop case strategies and help drive the litigation process forward.
- Maintain and implement best practices for case management and support throughout the litigation process.
- Foster a productive and positive working environment within the litigation team, encouraging continuous development and high performance.
- Assist with any other duties related to litigation support, as required by the firm's needs.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a supervising paralegal, litigation manager, or a similar leadership role within a personal injury law firm.
- Strong experience in managing all aspects of the litigation process, including case management, expert designation, file review, and deadline tracking.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills with a track record of managing and mentoring staff.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to take initiative and complete tasks efficiently and accurately.
- Proficiency with legal software and tools, case management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of relevant statutes, court rules, and legal procedures related to personal injury cases.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
