We are looking for an OpenSearch Engineer to design, build, and support scalable search and analytics platforms using OpenSearch. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with OpenSearch or Elasticsearch, and a solid understanding of search, indexing, and distributed systems in production environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and manage OpenSearch clusters for search and analytics use cases Develop and optimize index mappings, queries, and aggregations for performance and accuracy Implement data ingestion pipelines using Logstash, Fluentd, Beats, or custom connectors Monitor cluster health, performance, and capacity; handle upgrades and scaling Troubleshoot production issues related to indexing, search latency, and cluster stability Implement security features including role-based access, authentication, and encryption Collaborate with application, data, and platform teams to integrate search solutions Automate deployments and operational tasks using scripts and CI/CD pipelines Document architecture, configurations, and operational procedures
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Strong hands-on experience with OpenSearch or Elasticsearch in production Good understanding of distributed search systems, indexing, and query optimization Experience with OpenSearch Dashboards or Kibana for visualization and analysis Proficiency in one or more programming or scripting languages (Java, Python, Bash) Experience with data ingestion tools (Logstash, Fluentd, Beats, Kafka is a plus) Knowledge of Linux systems and performance tuning
Preferred / Nice to Have:
Experience with cloud-managed OpenSearch services (AWS OpenSearch Service or equivalent) Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) Familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or CloudWatch Knowledge of security and compliance requirements in enterprise environments Exposure to large-scale logging, observability, or SIEM platforms
