and the integration of psychodynamic principles.
Position Summary
JPA is seeking a compassionate, reflective, and committed School-Based Therapist to join our
team. In this role, the therapist will provide individual therapy to a caseload of 19 students,
grades Kindergarten through 8th, in an assigned partner school on Chicago’s South or Southwest
Side. The therapist will also dedicate one slot per week to meet with parents and educators. This
position offers a meaningful opportunity to work within school communities to support student
mental health, foster positive outcomes, and collaborate with school personnel and families.
Responsibilities
• Provide individual, weekly school-based therapy to a caseload of approximately 19
students in grades K–8
- Conduct intake assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
- Maintain timely and thorough Medicaid compliant documentation, including IMCANS,
clinical progress notes, and treatment plans
- Collaborate with school staff, parents, and caregivers to support students’ emotional and
behavioral growth
- Participate in weekly reflective clinical supervision and group supervision
- Engage in ongoing professional development and training opportunities through JPA
- Contribute to the school community as a mental health partner by participating in team
meetings or offering consultation as needed
- Work closely with clinical supervisors and agency leadership to ensure fidelity to JPA’s
relationship-based and psychodynamic approach
