POSITION OVERVIEW
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment and systems within the manufacturing facility to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous operations. This role supports production by performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, and minimizing downtime through timely and effective repairs. The Maintenance Technician will work closely with production and leadership teams to identify improvement opportunities, uphold safety standards, and ensure all equipment operates at optimal performance levels.
RESPONSIBILITES
- Follow all standard operating procedures for the company
- Create and maintain a safe and positive work environment while following all machine safety guidelines and policies
- Take measures to ensure the equipment continues to operate safely and efficiently.
- Utilize operation manuals, diagrams, sketches, blueprints, and procedures to make repairs and adjustments to machines as needed
- Follow plant preventative maintenance procedures to ensure machines run efficiently and safely
- Perform and follow plant lock out tag out procedures when working on plant systems and equipment
- Collaborate with Maintenance team and/or Engineers to complete needed projects
- Complete daily paperwork to ensure performance is tracked and recorded accurately
- Utilize engineering manuals on electrical codes and operate electrical handheld meters to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
- Perform variety of routine tasks including greasing wheels, plumbing, electrical, hydraulics, calibrations, electrical troubleshooting, pneumatics, and general machine adjustments.
- All other maintenance duties assigned as needed
REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical training through a trade school, vocational program, or apprenticeship preferred
- Demonstrated experience in manufacturing maintenance (2–5 years typical)
- Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- OSHA safety training (10-hour or 30-hour) preferred
- Industrial plumbing experience in repairs and projects
- General Hydraulic systems troubleshooting skills
- General maintenance electrical troubleshooting skills with equipment and facility wiring
- Certified in forklift operation or capable of becoming plant certified
- Solid reading, writing and math skills required for reading machine blueprints and service manuals
- Time management, delegation, and organization skills desired
- Must possess solid problem-solving capability
- Understanding of production processes as well as preventative maintenance procedures
- Ability to work within a team environment with solid communication skills in a service organization
- Strong attention to detail for quality workmanship
- Experience in manufacturing environment preferred
- Capable of following established plant safety procedures
- Capable of moving and lifting 50 lbs. following safety procedures
- Must be capable of climbing ladders, squatting, and working on feet for extended periods of time
- Ability to work overtime as required
- Consistent, reliable attendance is required to meet production demands and ensure team efficiency.
