We are a Christian, full-day, year-round preschool located in Falls Church, VA, serving children ages 18 months to 5 years old. We are a ministry of Columbia Baptist Church whose mission is to “Ignite passion for Jesus Christ from Metro Washington to the world.”
We are looking for a Lead Teacher for our 2-year-old classroom, who is a Christian (any denomination) and who shares our values and dedication to creating a nurturing, faith-based environment for young children in our Full Day Program (8 am to 5 pm). The ideal candidate additionally, should have a minimum of one year (twelve-months) of experience as an Lead Teacher in a Preschool Center.
The pay rate is determined by your qualifications and years of experience.
Our Lead Teachers will:
- Prepare and lead age-appropriate learning activities to foster the children’s social/emotional, physical, and educational development.
- Work with our Children’s Pastor to prepare and lead lessons to foster the children’s spiritual development.
- Document and communicate to parents their child’s progress towards pre-established developmental goals.
- Ensure classroom compliance with preschool licensing requirements.
- Supervise the classroom’s assistant teachers and provide guidance as needed.
Lead Teachers need to regularly bend, stoop, and crouch to physically interact with children and ensure their safety, as well as occasionally lift children or supplies throughout the day. Lead Teachers must be able to communicate effectively with children, parents, and co-workers.

Qualified candidates will have previous classroom teacher experience working with preschool-age children. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's degree in a child-related field and/or a child development/early childhood credential (CDA).

Pay: From $21.00 per hour
