Class A CDL Local Driver/Manager – Hazmat | 3 yrs exp req
Hot Line Freight System Inc is hiring a safety-focused Class A CDL Local Driver/Manager for an immediate full-time, day-shift position based in Madison WI. This dual role is a Monday–Friday local pickup and delivery driver position including facility management duties. This role offers consistent hours and no over-the-road travel.
We are looking for a dependable CDL driver with a clean driving record, Hazmat endorsement, and a strong commitment to safety and professionalism with the ability to lead the facility to meet company goals.
Class A CDL Local Driver/Manager Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class A commercial vehicle for local pickup and delivery routes
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance
- Load and unload freight safely and efficiently (forklift operation when required)
- Transport hazardous materials in compliance with DOT and company safety regulations
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs
- Provide professional customer service at pickup and delivery locations
- Follow all DOT, FMCSA, and company safety policies
- Lead, coach and counsel team members
- Manage staffing to meet facility needs
Class A CDL Local Driver/Manager Required Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL
- Hazmat endorsement (required)
- Minimum 3 years of Class A CDL driving experience
- Clean driving record and strong safety history
- Ability to work full-time, Monday–Friday, day shift
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
- Work productively in an autonomous environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Forklift experience
- Local pickup and delivery experience
- Familiarity with DOT regulations and compliance standards
- TMS (Transportation Management Software) experience
