Join our dynamic ophthalmology team as an Ophthalmic Assistant / Technician Trainee, where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting clinical operations. This role is perfect for motivated individuals eager to grow their career in ophthalmology and healthcare. Will support the right candidate in pursuing Ophthalmic medical assistant certification.
We proudly serve patients at multiple locations, including our South Lyon office at 321 Pettibone St, Suite 103, South Lyon, MI 48178. Candidates must be willing to work between locations.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with the intake process while ensuring compliance with HIPAA privacy regulations.
- Measure and record ophthalmic vitals to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Prepare exam rooms using aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment for all procedures.
- Assist clinicians during eye examinations by setting up equipment, handling instruments, providing patient education on procedures and performing diagnostic testing.
- Manage medical records electronically using our EMR system, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and proper documentation of patient interactions.
- Support front desk operations including scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, managing patient flow efficiently and managing patient charts.
- Provide excellent patient care by addressing questions, explaining procedures clearly, and ensuring a positive experience for all patients.
Experience
- Previous experience in medical office settings valued but not required—training will be provided.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology related to the eye, and ophthalmology practices is valued but not required—training will be provided.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail are essential for managing medical records and clinic workflows.

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
