Job Summary
Jet Medical Center is seeking a friendly, dependable, and highly organized Medical Receptionist to join our busy Occupational Medicine practice. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated team player with excellent customer service and communication skills who thrives in a fast-paced medical environment. As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a key role in creating a positive patient experience while ensuring the front office operates efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Schedule patient appointments
- Check patients in and out
- Answer and manage a multi-line phone system
- Utilize the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
- Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information
- Scan, fax, and maintain medical records
- Protect patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
- Take accurate messages and communicate them promptly
- Perform general front office and administrative duties as needed
- Work collaboratively with providers and staff to ensure efficient patient flow
- Communicate effectively with both English- and Spanish-speaking patients
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Fluent in both English and Spanish (required)
- Previous experience in a medical office preferred
- Experience scheduling patients in a healthcare setting
- Working knowledge of medical terminology
- Experience using an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
- Strong computer skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
