Job Summary
Michigan Staffing as teamed up with Detroit Thermal Systems in Romulus. We are currently seeking dependable and safety-focused Forklift/Material Handlers to support 2nd shift production by ensuring materials are delivered efficiently throughout the facility. This position plays a key role in maintaining inventory accuracy and keeping production lines supplied in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts and other powered industrial equipment safely.
- Load, unload, and transport materials throughout the facility.
- Supply production lines with the correct materials to prevent downtime.
- Receive, verify, and stage incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Perform inventory transactions and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Conduct daily forklift inspections and report equipment concerns.
- Follow FIFO (First-In, First-Out) inventory procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety, quality, and production standards.
- Assist with other warehouse and material handling duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 6 months of previous sitdown forklift/material handling experience.
- Experience in an automotive manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely and efficiently.
- Basic computer and inventory tracking skills preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Reliable attendance and ability to work overtime as needed.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds throughout the shift.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends when required
Shift: 4pm to 2:30am M-Su (must work required OT)
Pay Rate: $17.00 / Wkly Attendance Bonuses / Double-time on Sundays / Wkly Pay
