Make an impact supporting Deaf and Hard of Hearing students across a diverse range of grade levels—Pre-K through age 21— in a dynamic educational environment. This school-based opportunity offers a varied caseload spanning 25 buildings, with a total of 48 students (30 Teacher of Record, 18 Teacher of Service) who benefit from consultative and direct services. Your expertise will help students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally as you work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
Your role extends from IEP development and case management to assistive technology support and progress monitoring. The majority of your caseload will involve consult or monthly services, while a handful of students require more intensive direct support.
Ideal candidates will demonstrate:
- Valid teaching certification/licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Experience supporting students in Pre-K to age 21 (through transition programs)
- Proficiency in developing and implementing IEPs, as well as managing multiple caseloads
- Comfort using and supporting assistive technology for DHH students
- Collaborative skills—working closely with faculty, families, and related service providers
- Strong progress monitoring and reporting practices
- Flexibility working across multiple educational sites
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering direct and consultative services based on students’ individualized needs and service frequencies
- Tracking progress and maintaining thorough documentation
- Providing training and resources to staff and families on assistive technology and best practices for DHH education
- Facilitating IEP meetings and communicating students' needs and growth
- Ensuring compliance with IDEA and district standards
