High school diploma or equivalent. Six months – 1 year of relevant work experience is desired. Familiarity with the Northwest Arctic Borough Region, its culture, people, and ability to speak Inupiaq desirable. Have a current knowledge of local and outside resources for client educational, training, and job opportunities Ability to read, understand and become proficient with the Maniilaq TANF Manual and ability to put in practice the policy and regulations. Able to learn P.L 102.477 and each program component and compliance regulations. Prior experience using computers at the beginning level for word processing and data entry. Ability to become proficient with the following computer software’s: TAS, State of Alaska electronic mainframe, Child support Mainframe, and SAM Unemployment. Must have the ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and in writing, with people in the service area and state agencies. Ability to travel in small planes. Demonstrated ability to work with people.
