Responsibilities
- Operate grounds maintenance equipment including mowers, chainsaws, power tools, and irrigation systems to maintain fairways, greens, tees, and surrounding landscapes.
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks such as planting, trimming, mowing, fertilizing, aerating, and edging to ensure healthy turf and vibrant plantings.
- Manage irrigation systems efficiently to ensure proper watering schedules and troubleshoot issues with sprinkler systems.
- Conduct routine inspections of the course grounds to identify areas needing repair or attention; perform manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting and moving materials.
- Apply pesticides and fertilizers following safety protocols to control pests and promote healthy growth while adhering to pesticide management standards.
- Maintain equipment through regular cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs to ensure safe operation and longevity.
- Support athletic field groundskeeping activities by ensuring playing surfaces are safe, level, and well-maintained for optimal playability.
Experience
- Prior experience in golf course groundskeeping or athletic field maintenance is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to operate landscaping machinery such as mowers, chainsaws, power tools, and irrigation systems safely.
- Knowledge of horticulture principles related to lawn care, gardening, landscaping, and general land management practices.
- Familiarity with pesticide management procedures and safety standards related to chemical application.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting with proper technique.
- Strong understanding of equipment maintenance routines for groundskeeping tools and machinery.
- Valid driver’s license with experience operating company vehicles or similar equipment is advantageous.
