We are seeking a passionate and experienced Activities Director to lead our Recreation Department and create meaningful experiences that enhance the quality of life for our residents. Bachelor's Degree or certification program completion required
Must possess an active ADC (Activity Director Certified), CDP (Certified Dementia Practitioner), or CTRS (Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist) credential
Minimum of two years of supervisory experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Knowledge of state and federal regulations, resident rights, and quality assurance programs
Experience developing and implementing person-centered programming
Computer proficiency and documentation experience required
As the Activities Director, you will be responsible for planning, developing, and overseeing engaging recreational programs that promote physical, emotional, cognitive, and social well-being.
Responsibilities include:
Supervising Recreation Department personnel
Developing, implementing, and evaluating resident-centered activity programs
Creating monthly activity calendars and resident newsletters
Designing specialized programs for residents with dementia and other cognitive impairments
Maintaining compliance with documentation requirements and care planning processes
Participating in interdisciplinary care team meetings
Monitoring departmental quality assurance initiatives
Managing department budgets and resources effectively
Planning and coordinating resident, family, and community events
Creating and implementing facility-wide employee engagement and event calendars
Ensuring all programming aligns with resident interests, abilities, and goals
