Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of hair services including cutting, styling, coloring, extensions, and texturizing treatments with precision and artistry
- Consult with clients to understand their desired looks and recommend suitable hair care solutions tailored to their needs
- Maintain impeccable sanitation standards by properly cleaning tools, stations, and salon areas in accordance with health regulations
- Utilize salon software such as MINDBODY to schedule appointments, manage client records, and process retail sales efficiently
- Offer expert advice on hair care routines, product recommendations, and retail upselling to enhance client satisfaction and loyalty
- Demonstrate proficiency in specialized services like eyelash extensions, nail care, makeup application, and hair threading to diversify service offerings
- Mentor junior stylists and front desk staff to foster a collaborative team environment focused on outstanding customer service
Experience
- Proven experience working in the beauty industry as a hairstylist or barber with a strong portfolio of diverse styling techniques
- Knowledge of hair coloring techniques including color theory principles for safe and vibrant results
- Skilled in using salon management software such as MINDBODY for appointment booking and client communication
- Familiarity with sanitation practices specific to cosmetology, barbering, and related beauty services
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients to understand their preferences and provide personalized recommendations
- Experience working with hair extensions, straight razors, and other specialized tools preferred but not required
- Strong retail sales skills including upselling products like hair care items, cosmetics, and nail care products
