Qualifications:
- Must have a minimum Registered Nurse license.
- Should possess a current, valid, and unrestricted license in the State of Kentucky.
- No minimum experience required.
- Prefer knowledge of recovery, mental health and other co-occurring disorders and experience in working with addiction in a residential and / or intensive outpatient milieu.
- Prefer Experience in crisis intervention and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, fluid and stressful environment.
- Possess a valid Kentucky driver’s license.
- Reports to: Program Director.
Position Summary: The Program Nurse will be responsible for review and implementation of all medical policies and procedures. The Nurse will also collaborate with admissions and the linked medical providers for quality coordination of care. The nurse is on call 24/7 to address emergent client concerns and/or issues.
Main Responsibilities:
- Perform intake assessments and assign treatment plans per protocol.
- Evaluate new clients as needed for medical problems or treatment needs.
- Communicate with medical practitioner regarding client needs and adjustments in the treatment plan.
- Perform education and support activities with clients regarding medical problems or health maintenance.
- Participate in policy/procedural development and implementation.
- Assist in preparing medication boxes for clients.
- Assist in medication room procedures, i.e. providing med boxes, over-the-counter medications or evaluation of medical needs.
- Be well versed in all rules, policies, and procedures and successfully complete relevant competencies.
- Ensure that Medical Room is clean and stocked.
- Ensure that first aid supplies are available and stocked in all med rooms and first aid kits are on the premises.
- Filing of medical papers for current and past clients.
- Schedule medical appointments and keep appointments.
- Prepare necessary information, outside medical visit forms, papers/IDs/insurance cards prior to clients’ medical appointments.
- Request medical records from all appointments with an outside provider through appropriate personnel.
- Performance of daily tasks and monthly audits as related to treatment room policies for such.
- Monitoring of those who are complaining of illness- vital signs, symptoms and reporting to the Licensed Practitioner for treatment direction.
- Work closely with Licensed Independent Practitioner for client treatment
- Make appropriate referrals to outside entities to address health issues and collaborate with case associate to care for client needs.
- Establish and follow a regular sanitization schedule for disinfecting facility and train on how to do so.
- Provide training on appropriate observation of self-administered medications.
- Provide in service training on health-related topics as needed
- Provide education to clients in form of group on nurse related concepts
Any employee wishing to resign is required to furnish a written notice of such intention addressed to the employee’s immediate supervisor and the Human Resources Department. All employees are entitled to all earned, unpaid salary. All termination pay will be distributed to the employee on the next payday following the termination. This position requires 30 days resignation notice.
Pay: Up to $65,000.00 per year
