Job Summary:
100% American Veteran - owned trucking company looking for a fleet mechanic. Our fleet consists of 50 trucks. We prefer Detroit Diesels we have a mix of some Peterbilts with ISX engines.
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing repairs and maintenance on a variety of diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical skills and the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues with diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, and other systems
- Conduct inspections to identify potential problems and recommend necessary repairs
- Use hand tools and automotive diagnostics equipment to perform accurate troubleshooting
- Assemble, disassemble, and reassemble engine components as needed
- Fabricate or modify parts to ensure proper fit and function
- Perform tire service, including rotation, balancing, and alignment
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client concerns and answering questions
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or similar role
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems
- Proficient in using hand tools and automotive diagnostics equipment
- Familiarity with tractor-trailers and heavy equipment is preferred
- HVAC certification is a plus
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex mechanical issues
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Good communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers
