General Summary
The Assistant Manager manages overall store operations and the achievement of company goals and directives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Customer Service
- Provide positive representation of Ace Retail Group
- Proactively assist customers in solving problems
- Greet customers entering and throughout the store; thank them when leaving
- Provide a friendly, outgoing demeanor and work well with customers and associates
- Ensure all calls and pages are answered promptly and courteously
- Resolve customer issues with Ace Retail Group’s best interest in mind
- Maintain strong product and store layout knowledge
Store Operations
- Ensure a positive, professional, and safe work environment
- Supervise general operations of the store
- Open and close the store as needed
- Assist with Store Support Center program implementation
- Ensure Loss Prevention, Safety, and Audit success
- Partner with the General Manager on store operations
- Participate in weekly management meetings
- Communicate issues to Store Support Center with GM approval
- Assist with district projects from the District Manager
- Implement Standard Operating Procedures
- Maintain cleanliness of sales floor, stockroom, and outdoor areas
- Ensure price changes and labels are accurate and timely
- Oversee associate training, audits, and reporting
- Manage preventative maintenance and repairs
- Monitor competitor activity
- Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Skills, Requirements and Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedure manuals
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
- Ability to compute ratios, percentages, and interpret graphs
- Ability to work independently
- Flexible work schedule
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to foster teamwork and motivate others
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally with assistance
Pay: $22.00 per hour
