Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards, ensuring each dish meets quality expectations.
- Assist in menu planning by offering input on seasonal ingredients and innovative dish ideas.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper food handling and storage procedures.
- Use knife skills efficiently for chopping, slicing, dicing, and portioning ingredients with precision.
- Support food safety protocols by adhering to sanitation guidelines and monitoring temperature controls during food preparation.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to execute catering orders and special event menus seamlessly.
- Serve dishes promptly while maintaining a high level of professionalism and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar role within the food industry.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling techniques.
- Experience working in fine dining establishments or high-end restaurants is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated proficiency in culinary skills such as knife handling, meal preparation, and plating.
- Background in dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus, especially for specialized menus.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
