Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on manufacturing equipment, including hydraulics, electrical systems, and mechanical components.
- Troubleshoot and repair machinery using schematics, technical manuals, and analysis skills to identify root causes of issues.
- Operate and calibrate precision measuring instruments such as ammeters, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools to ensure optimal machine performance.
- Utilize system to document work orders, track maintenance history, and schedule preventative tasks.
- Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to diagnose control system faults and implement necessary repairs or adjustments.
- Conduct repairs involving welding , HVAC/R systems, low voltage electrical work, and high voltage safety protocols.
- Use field service techniques to troubleshoot on-site issues quickly, ensuring minimal downtime for production lines.
- Maintain safety standards by adhering to lockout/tagout procedures and operating scissor lifts or other industrial equipment safely.
- Proactively identify and recommend solutions for maintanance challenges thorugh designated communication channels.
- Support operations initiatives by providing timely technical assistance and communicating effectively with team members and external vendors.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the overall maintenance function.
Skills and Qualifications
- Proven industrial mechanic experience within an automotive manufacturing facility environment.
- Strong electrical experience with knowledge of industrial electricians’ practices, schematics interpretation, and electrical testing tools like ammeters and ohmmeters.
- Hands-on experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), hydraulic systems, HVAC/R systems, and low/high voltage electrical systems.
- Familiarity with CMMS software for maintenance management and documentation.
- Skilled in welding techniques specific to Texas welding standards; ability to perform mechanical repairs using precision measuring instruments.
- Knowledge of industrial maintenance procedures including analysis skills for troubleshooting complex machinery faults.
- Experience working in field service roles or providing technical sales support is a plus.
- Ability to read schematics accurately and follow detailed technical manuals or diagrams.
- Understanding of IATF 16949, EMS and Quality Systems requirements pertaining to the role.
- Basic computer skills, including proficient in utilizing spreadsheets, required
- High School or equivalent, required
- Technical certification in maintenance or related field, highly preferred.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred.
- Two years or more in Maintenance Technician role or similar in Manufacturing environment, required
