Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and plate menu items according to established recipes and quality standards
- Assist with menu planning and ingredient preparation to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Maintain high standards of food safety, sanitation, and hygiene throughout all stages of food handling
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, stoves, ovens, and other culinary tools
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food while adhering to safety guidelines
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely meal service and uphold excellent customer service standards
- Keep workstations clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies for efficient meal preparation
Qualifications
- Proven experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food handling within restaurant or food industry environments
- Knowledge of menu planning, meal preparation, and food safety protocols
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in culinary techniques
- Experience with catering services and serving large groups is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen setting
- Prior kitchen experience in restaurants or similar food service establishments preferred
