Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Lower Elementary Math and Science Teacher to inspire young learners and foster a love for mathematics and science in our micro-school. We bring live experiences to the subjects we learn with externships, field trips, and project based learning. In this role, you will create engaging lesson plans using hands on learning, utilize innovative teaching methods, and adapt instruction to meet diverse learning styles. You will work in small groups, ensure experiences (science and math experiments and projects) are readily accessible, and give what you love. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help students develop foundational math and science skills, confidence, and critical thinking abilities essential for their academic journey. Responsibilities
- Implement our Singapore math curriculum in a small group setting, providing scaffolding or hands-on lessons for learners who need it.
- Design interactive lessons that incorporate educational technology tools and hands-on activities to enhance understanding of mathematical concepts.
- Monitor student progress regularly
- Attend math and science related field trips and design projects accordingly
- Manage classroom environments effectively by applying behavior management techniques and fostering a positive, inclusive atmosphere conducive to learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, lesson planning, and integrating literacy education alongside math instruction.
- Support students with diverse learning needs by adapting teaching strategies for different learning styles and providing targeted tutoring or interventions when necessary.
- Engage in ongoing professional development related to early childhood education, special education, Montessori methods, or other relevant pedagogies to enhance teaching effectiveness.
Qualifications
- Proven classroom experience working with young children in an educational setting, preferably within a private school environment.
- Strong knowledge of math concepts suitable for lower elementary levels and experience with curriculum development and lesson planning.
- Familiarity with learning technology integration, including educational software and digital tools for instruction and student assessment.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues, parents, and students’ families.
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to accommodate various learning styles and developmental needs of children.
- Understanding of educational compliance regulations, standardized testing procedures, and behavior management techniques.
