As a Prep Cook, you will play a vital role in assisting with menu planning, food preparation, and maintaining the overall cleanliness of the kitchen. Your attention to detail, knowledge of food safety practices, and ability to work efficiently will contribute to the success of our culinary operations. Shifts are for afternoons and evenings of a Billiards Hall.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in menu planning and preparation for daily meals
- Prepare and cook food according to recipes and dietary requirements
- Ensure food is prepared in a safe and sanitary manner, following food safety guidelines
- Assist with catering events and special functions as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area
- Handle food and ingredients properly to prevent contamination
- Help with inventory management and stock rotation
Experience:
- Previous experience in the food industry or as a prep cook is preferred
- Knowledge of food safety practices and procedures
- Familiarity with basic cooking techniques and equipment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately
- Excellent knife skills for chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients
- Experience as a dietary aide or in a similar role is a plus
Requirements:
- Commute within a 10 mile radius
- 2 solid years of experience at one establishment within the last 5 years
