Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms with dental instruments, materials, and equipment, ensuring all tools are sterilized and ready for use according to infection prevention management protocols.
- Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, practicing four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency.
- Take and develop dental x-rays using advanced equipment such as 3D scanners and dental x-ray machines while adhering to HIPAA regulations and radiation safety standards.
- Manage patient records accurately using electronic medical records (EMR systems) like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring all documentation complies with clinical confidentiality policies.
- Monitor vital signs and medical history of patients to support comprehensive care and facilitate smooth clinical workflows.
- Process dental instruments through sterilization procedures following strict infection control guidelines to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Support patient management by greeting patients as a dental receptionist, scheduling appointments, updating medical documentation, and providing clear instructions for pre- and post-treatment care.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting with knowledge of dental terminology and clinical procedures.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with patient management software is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of infection prevention management, aseptic technique, dental sterilization procedures, and healthcare infection control standards.
- Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, dental instruments, and other clinical tools efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain procedures clearly to patients while maintaining professionalism under HIPAA guidelines.
- Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry and proficiency in medical documentation practices.
- Certification in radiography or X-ray technology preferred; additional certifications in pediatric dentistry or oral surgery are advantageous.

Pay: $26.20 - $31.56 per hour
