We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of the food industry, particularly in a fine dining environment. Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
- Assist in menu planning and development, contributing creative ideas for seasonal dishes.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Handle food responsibly, ensuring proper food handling techniques are followed at all times.
- Utilize various kitchen tools and equipment, including knives, to prepare ingredients effectively.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy periods.
- Support the dietary department by accommodating special dietary needs as required.
- Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist with ordering as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant or fine dining setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary skills.
- Familiarity with menu planning and dietary restrictions is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- A valid food handling certification is desirable but not mandatory; training will be provided.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items as necessary.
