Duties
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges
- Provide product demos and upsell items to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales
- Assist customers with questions about products, store layout, and promotions using excellent communication skills
- Maintain organized merchandising displays and stock shelves to ensure a neat shopping environment
- Handle cash transactions with precision, including cash handling and basic math calculations
- Support stocking activities by replenishing inventory and organizing back-stock areas
- Demonstrate phone etiquette when answering inquiries or directing calls to appropriate departments
- Promote store promotions and loyalty programs to boost retail sales and customer engagement
Experience
- Previous cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store environment preferred but not required
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures essential for accuracy and efficiency
- Supervising experience is a plus, especially when assisting team members or managing customer issues
- Ability to perform retail math confidently for transactions, discounts, and inventory counts
- Strong communication skills in both English and bilingual capabilities are highly valued for serving diverse customers effectively
- Experience in merchandising, stocking, or product demos enhances your ability to contribute immediately
- Knowledge of grocery store operations is advantageous for understanding product placement and inventory management
