Position Overview
The Architectural Precast Project Manager is responsible for managing projects from post-award through final installation. This role serves as the primary point of coordination between engineering, production, field operations, and the customer. This is a hands-on position requiring a strong understanding of precast concrete, shop drawings, and the overall flow of work from design through manufacturing and erection.
Key Responsibilities
-Manage architectural precast projects from kickoff through closeout
-Coordinate with internal teams and external engineering partners on shop drawings and design revisions
-Review and track submittals, RFIs, and approvals
-Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, contractors, and field crews
-Develop and maintain project schedules aligned with production and installation timelines
-Ensure all project specifications, tolerances, and quality standards are met
-Coordinate with plant operations to align production schedules and delivery sequencing
-Support cost tracking, change orders, and project documentation
-Lead project kickoff and coordination meetings
-Identify and resolve issues related to design, production, and field installation
Required Qualifications
-3+ years of experience in precast concrete, structural concrete, or a related construction/manufacturing environment
-Experience managing projects, coordinating drawings, or working in a Project Engineer or Project Manager capacity
-Strong understanding of:
-Shop drawings
-Submittals and RFIs
-Construction and project workflows
-Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, production, and field teams
-Strong organizational and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
-Experience with architectural precast
-Familiarity with PCI or NPCA standards
-Experience working with outsourced engineering partners
-Background in design-build or manufacturing-driven construction environments
-Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred, not required)
