Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated person with experience inspecting, installing and repairing Fire Alarm & Suppression systems or other electrical experience, including running wire, and installing and programming panels.
Responsibilities
- Have knowledge of current State/National Fire and Electrical Codes.
- Have database management skills /computer literate.
- Work with blueprints, take offs and as-builts.
- Install cabling, security, fire alarm, fire suppression system components and perform final connections.
- Display strong troubleshooting and problem- solving techniques.
- Program IP video/CCTV, access control, intrusion, fire alarm, suppression, and other security system solutions.
Experience
- Proven experience installing, maintaining, or servicing fire systems in commercial or industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of fire systems including proprietary panels, sensors, schematics, and low voltage electrical work.
- Ability to read electrical blueprints, schematics, CAD drawings, and construction documents accurately.
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and engineering troubleshooting techniques.
- Excellent customer service skills with a proactive approach to client interactions; previous experience in service technician roles is preferred.
Other Requirements
- Must submit to and pass a drug screening and background check.
- Possess a valid driver's license and maintain a good driving record.
- Ability to lift an 80 lb. extension ladder.
- Ability to work 15 to 25 feet above ground.
- Flexibility to work overtime, rotational on-call, and travel overnight as needed.
- Ability and desire to learn bout our products and services.
Our ideal Fire Systems Technician will have 2+ years of hands- on experience with a strong understanding of fire systems solutions and be highly motivated with an eye towards quality. NICET Certification is a PLUS. Our candidate will be well organized with good written and oral communication skills and be able to work independently.
