Responsibilities:
- Patient nursing care
- Excellent canine and feline handling and restraint skills
- Assist veterinarians with exams, vaccinations, and treatments
- Administer anesthetics or sedatives un der the direction of a veterinarian
- Surgical prep, pre- and post-op care, surgical monitoring, venipuncture, and IV catheter placement
- Taking radiographs and performing sample collections
- Microscope slide preparation for cytology
- Preparing laboratory samples
- Maintain a high level of client communication - verbal and written
- Cleaning, sanitizing, and stocking hospital spaces
- Maintaining accurate medical records
- Working knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of veterinary technician experience required
- Experience with small animal handling of all temperaments, general patient care, and surgical procedures required
- Flexible Scheduling - Rotating Evening Shifts Required
- Demonstrated commitment to patient care and client service
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Experience with Avimark is a plus but not required
- Team player with the ability to work independently to meet goals and objectives
- Strong commitment to ethics, integrity, and continuous learning
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management abilities
- Friendly, dependable, self-motivated attitude
