Overview
Join our dedicated team as a Childcare Aide 1 or Aide 2, where you will play a vital role in nurturing and supporting the development of children in our care. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with young children, fostering their growth through engaging activities and compassionate caregiving. You will contribute to creating a safe, stimulating, and positive environment that promotes early childhood development and learning.
Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers and caregivers in implementing age-appropriate activities that support childhood development, including preschool, toddler, and infant care.
- Provide attentive supervision to ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times during classroom activities, playtime, meals, and rest periods.
- Support classroom management by maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming environment conducive to learning and exploration.
- Engage children in educational play, social interactions, and behavioral guidance to promote positive behavior management.
- Administer basic first aid when necessary and follow established health and safety protocols to address minor injuries or health concerns promptly.
- Collaborate with team members to observe and document children's progress, behaviors, and special needs related to working with individuals with disabilities or special education requirements.
- Assist with daily routines such as diapering, feeding, nap times, and transitioning children between activities smoothly.
Qualifications
- *MUST be 18 years and up to apply
- *MUST be enrolled in the Oregon Criminal Background Registry https://ssl7.emp.state.or.us/ccd/
- Have or be able to obtain infant/toddler/adult First Aid and CPR Certificates
- Have or be able to obtain Oregon Food Handlers Card
- Have or be able to obtain a Recognizing; Reporting Child Abuse CertificateAttend at least 15 hours of continuing education Early Childhood trainings yearly
- Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, preschool, nannying, babysitting, or similar environments.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special education needs is a plus.
- Strong classroom experience with effective classroom management skills.
- Passion for working with children and fostering their growth through caregiving and teaching.

Pay: $16.00 - $21.75 per hour
