Responsibilities
- Install solar panels and related electrical components using power tools, hand tools, and heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, bucket trucks, and rigging gear.
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and inspections on solar systems to ensure peak efficiency and safety standards are met.
- Conduct utility locating, fiber splicing, cabling, and electrical work involving high voltage and low voltage systems to ensure seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
- Operate heavy machinery including bucket operation equipment, excavators, loaders, dozers, and water systems to facilitate site preparation and system installation.
- Climb ladders safely for system inspections or maintenance tasks; utilize mechanical knowledge to identify issues with pipeline or water system components.
- Engage in manual handling and heavy lifting activities while adhering to safety protocols; perform welding and rigging as needed during construction or repair projects.
- Collaborate with team members on construction site activities involving utility cabling, utility locating, power tools use, and MRO (maintenance, repair & operations) tasks to ensure project milestones are achieved efficiently.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working in the energy & utilities sector with familiarity in construction site environments.
- Skilled in heavy equipment operation including excavators, loaders, backhoes, bucket trucks, dozers, and rigging gear.
- Strong electrical experience with knowledge of high voltage and low voltage systems; capable of fiber splicing and cabling work.
- Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, climbing ladders safely, and manual handling techniques.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with experience in maintenance or repair activities involving pipelines or water systems.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely; comfortable working at heights and on construction sites under varying conditions.
- Excellent safety awareness with understanding of utility locating procedures; capable of following strict safety protocols during all operations.
