Job Summary
The Blending Manager oversees all blending and formulation operations within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring product quality, safety, and efficiency while managing personnel, equipment, and production schedules. The Blending Manager plays a critical role in maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and driving continuous improvement in blending processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily blending operations to ensure accurate formulation and product consistency
- Manage production schedules and coordinate blending activities with overall manufacturing operations
- Supervise, train, and develop blending supervisors, leads, and operators
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, GMP, and quality standards
- Monitor raw material usage, inventory levels, and batch records
- Collaborate with quality assurance to ensure all products meet required specifications
- Maintain and improve standard operating procedures (SOPs) for blending processes
- Analyze performance metrics (KPIs) and implement process improvements
- Troubleshoot equipment and process issues to minimize downtime
- Partner with maintenance, supply chain, and production teams to optimize workflow
- Ensure proper sanitation and maintenance of blending equipment and facilities
- Support new product development and scale-up of formulations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Food Science, or related field (preferred, but not required)
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or blending operations
- 2–5 years of leadership or supervisory experience
- Strong understanding of blending systems, formulations, and production processes
- Knowledge of GMP, OSHA, and quality standards
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Experience with ERP or production tracking systems (preferred)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in a manufacturing/production environment
- Ability to stand, walk, and supervise operations for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures
Work Environment
- Manufacturing or production facility (food, chemical, nutraceutical, or industrial)
- May require flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends
Pay: $50,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
