Duties
- Assist delivery drivers with loading and unloading packages, ensuring items are handled safely and efficiently using equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts when needed
- Help carry heavy or bulky items during deliveries, utilizing proper lifting techniques to prevent injury
- Support route driving by preparing delivery routes, verifying addresses, and ensuring all packages are accounted for
- Load trucks accurately based on delivery schedules and customer priorities
- Aid in maintaining vehicle cleanliness and safety checks before and after routes
- Interact courteously with customers during drop-offs, providing excellent customer service and addressing basic inquiries
- Help document delivery activities, including load & unload logs, delivery confirmations, and incident reports
Experience
- Previous warehouse experience or familiarity with loading/unloading operations is preferred
- Experience in delivery driver roles or courier services is highly valued
- Ability to operate box trucks or similar commercial vehicles with manual transmission is a plus
- Knowledge of route driving best practices for efficiency and safety
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and moving tasks consistently throughout the day
- Familiarity with equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks enhances your suitability for this role
- Strong customer service skills combined with reliable driving history contribute to success in this position
