Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable, passionate, and creative Florist to join our team at our Lower East Side location. The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for both traditional and experimental floral design. As a Florist at our store, you will be responsible for creating stunning floral arrangements, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining the overall presentation of our floral/plant shop. Your role will also involve assisting customers in selecting flowers for various occasions, ensuring their needs are met with professionalism and care.

Duties
- Design and create floral arrangements and installations for various occasions including holidays, weddings, and special events.
- Assist customers in selecting flowers, arrangements, and plants that suit their needs while providing knowledgeable recommendations and plant education as needed.
- Maintain inventory by stocking flowers, plants, and supplies; ensuring freshness and quality at all times.
- Operate the cash register and handle cash transactions accurately while providing receipts to customers.
- Communicate effectively with customers to understand their preferences and provide exceptional service.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure the shop is well-organized and visually appealing.
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks as needed to enhance outdoor displays.
Skills
- At least 2-3 years of retail floral experience is required.
- Strong sales skills with the ability to upsell products effectively.
- Proficiency in cash handling and experience operating Square POS system or cash register.
- Weekend availability.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Knowledge of retail sales practices and customer service principles.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining organization and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with Chelsea flower market is a plus.
- Knowledge of house plants is a plus.
