Medical Assistant Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for exams by taking vital signs, recording medical histories, and explaining procedures.
- Assist healthcare professionals during examinations and procedures.
- Provide patient education, including post-biopsy instructions and answering questions.
- Perform skin care tasks such as dressing applications and suture removal.
- Greet patients and provide service information, ensuring a positive experience.
- Handle administrative tasks: update electronic medical records, schedule appointments, and coordinate care with DirectDerm’s service center.
- Maintain cleanliness and follow infection control protocols in patient areas.
- Educate patients on telehealth processes and address concerns.
- Take high-quality digital images of skin conditions, ensuring proper guidelines are followed.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA guidelines.
- Manage a high volume of inbound and outbound calls in a timely and efficient manner.
- Deliver medical results to patients under a supervising dermatologist’s guidance.
- Exercise triage principles to prioritize patient communications.
Desired Requirements and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited medical assistant program (preferred).
- Bilingual in English and Spanish, Russian, or Mandarin (preferred).
- Availability for closing hours, including evenings Monday to Friday and weekends. This is a full-time position; NO part-time options.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach to patient care.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, basic math, and healthcare regulations.
- Prior experience in Dermatology, telehealth, or remote care (preferred).
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and compliance.
- Ability to adapt to changing environments and troubleshoot technical issues.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
