We are seeking a dependable and compassionate culinary professional to prepare nutritious, appealing meals for residents in an assisted living setting. In this role, you will help create a positive dining experience by planning, preparing, and serving food that supports residents’ health, comfort, and enjoyment. The ideal candidate is organized, attentive to detail, and committed to maintaining high standards of safety, cleanliness, and hospitality.
- Prepare breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks according to scheduled meal plans and resident needs.
- Follow recipes, portion guidelines, and dietary requirements, including texture-modified and therapeutic diets as directed.
- Ensure meals are appetizing, properly presented, and served on time.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen, dining, and food storage area.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures at all times.
- Monitor food inventory, rotate stock, and assist with ordering and receiving supplies as needed.
- Work collaboratively with care staff, management, and dietary team members to support resident satisfaction.
- Accommodate special dietary requests and communicate concerns regarding meal preparation or resident needs.
- Clean and sanitize equipment, cookware, utensils, and work surfaces after use.
- Assist with meal setup, service, and cleanup in a respectful and efficient manner.
- Previous cooking experience in a healthcare, senior living, hospitality, or similar environment preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper sanitation practices.
- Ability to follow standardized recipes and dietary instructions accurately.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to maintain a calm, respectful, and professional demeanor.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weight, and perform routine kitchen tasks.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
- ServSafe required but we can set you up.
- Weekend availability required.
- Experience preparing meals for older adults or individuals with special dietary needs.
- Familiarity with therapeutic diets, texture modifications, and allergen awareness.
- Certification in food handling or safe food service practices.
