Summary
The Safety Manager will be responsible for the development, maintenance, and oversight of the company's safety program, ensuring full compliance with DOT requirements, applicable state laws, and FMCSA regulations.
The successful candidate will collaborate with both current and prospective drivers to implement and uphold all company and regulatory safety standards, and will be responsible for tracking and addressing any safety violations.
Essential Functions
- Ensure company adherence to all local, state, and federal transport and workplace safety regulations (e.g., DOT, OSHA).
- Monitor driver performance, conduct spot checks, and implement driver safety programs.
- Identify, coordinate, create, and implement driver’s training materials.
- Ensure company adherence to all local, state, and federal transport and workplace safety regulations (e.g., DOT, OSHA).
- Lead investigations for accidents, injuries, or property damage to determine root causes.
- Act as the company liaison with insurance agencies to process and manage equipment and liability claims.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
- Promote and build a proactive "safety-first" culture among all operational staff and management.
Requirements
- 2+ years of demonstrated history of Intermodal Safety Management.
- Knowledge and understanding of HOS, DOT and FMCSA regulations and general trucking safety/compliance procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and time-management skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $1,500.00 - $1,700.00 per week
