Webster Family Dentistry is seeking a dependable, organized, and detail-oriented Lab Technician/Dental Assistant to help keep our clinical operations running smoothly and efficiently.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys staying busy, takes pride in maintaining a clean and organized work environment, and works well as part of a team. The primary focus of this role will be instrument sterilization, operatory turnover, lab case management, inventory control, taking dental X-rays, and supporting the clinical team as needed.
Responsibilities
- Clean, disinfect, package, sterilize, and properly store dental instruments in accordance with OSHA and infection-control standards
- Monitor sterilization equipment and maintain required testing and documentation
- Prepare treatment rooms with the appropriate instruments, materials, and supplies
- Clean and disinfect operatories between patients to support an efficient patient flow
- Maintain organized and fully stocked treatment rooms
- Track clinical supplies and assist with ordering and inventory management
- Receive, organize, and process incoming and outgoing dental lab cases
- Verify that lab cases are complete and available before scheduled appointments
- Take dental X-rays when properly trained and authorized
- Escort patients to treatment rooms and help ensure their comfort
- Assist dentists and dental assistants with procedures when needed
- Perform basic laboratory duties as directed
- Follow all office safety, infection-control, and patient-privacy policies
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and professional clinical environment
- Support the team with additional clinical or administrative duties as needed
Qualifications
- Dental assisting or sterilization experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate
- Knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization procedures, and infection-control standards is preferred
- Dental radiology certification is preferred or must be obtained as required
- EFDA certification or dental assisting school completion is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to follow instructions and established clinical protocols
- Dependable, punctual, and able to manage multiple responsibilities
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Positive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed
- Basic computer skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required
