Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble menu items according to recipes and presentation standards, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, fryers, and food processors.
- Follow food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures to maintain cleanliness and prevent contamination.
- Assist in meal preparation for dine-in, catering events, or special functions, adhering strictly to recipe guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work station by regularly cleaning utensils, equipment, and surfaces throughout shifts.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate timing and ensure smooth service flow.
- Support menu planning efforts by providing input on ingredient availability and preparation techniques.
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments with a strong foundation in culinary techniques.
- Knowledge of dietary department practices and dietary aide experience is a plus.
- Excellent knife skills with slicing techniques that promote efficiency and safety in food prep.
- Ability to follow recipes accurately while maintaining flexibility for special requests or modifications.
- Strong understanding of food safety management standards and safety standards in production environments.
- Experience operating kitchen equipment such as ovens, mixers, slicers, and other culinary tools.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate seamlessly with kitchen staff and front-of-house teams.
- Familiarity with menu planning, meal preparation, catering experience, and serving procedures is highly desirable.
