We are seeking a caring, energetic, and flexible Preschool Floater to join our team! This position is perfect for someone who enjoys working with children of various ages and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Our Floater plays an essential role in supporting our teachers, students, and daily classroom operations by providing assistance wherever it is needed throughout the school day.
Responsibilities
- Float between all preschool classrooms as needed throughout the day.
- Provide classroom coverage for teachers during restroom breaks and other brief absences.
- Cover classrooms while administrative staff complete planning time, meetings, or other responsibilities.
- Step into classrooms as needed when administrators are assisting elsewhere in the building.
- Provide classroom support by serving as the classroom aide or substitute when staff members are absent due to illness, vacation, family emergency, and or other scheduled leave.
- Escort students safely to and from the restroom, as not all classrooms are equipped with in-room bathrooms.
- Assist teachers with classroom activities, centers, transitions, clean-up, and supervision.
- Help maintain a safe, positive, and nurturing learning environment.
- Build positive relationships with students, families, and staff while representing Trinity UCC Preschool in a professional manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the daily operation of the preschool.
Qualifications
- Experience working with young children is preferred but not required.
- A positive attitude, flexibility, patience, and a willingness to jump in wherever needed.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating with staff.
- Must be dependable, responsible, and enjoy working with children ages 2–5.
Schedule
- Approximately 15–25 hours per week.
- Hours will vary depending on the needs of the preschool and the applicant's availability and flexibility.
- Additional hours may be available throughout the school year.
Clearances
The following Pennsylvania clearances are required before employment:
- Pennsylvania State Police Criminal History Check
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance
- FBI Fingerprint Clearance (if applicable)
If you do not currently have your clearances, Trinity UCC Preschool can assist with obtaining and covering the cost of the required clearances for qualified candidates.
