Now Hiring: Youth Development Professional (Elementary Program – 2nd–5th Grade)
The Boys & Girls Club of the Grand Strand is looking for an enthusiastic, caring, and dependable individual who loves working with elementary-aged children and is passionate about helping them learn, grow, and have fun!

Schedule
- Monday–Friday
- 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
- Occasional staff meetings, professional development, and training days are required.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage with students in 2nd through 5th grade during after-school programming.
- Lead age-appropriate games, crafts, STEM activities, fitness, and educational enrichment.
- Assist students with homework and encourage academic success.
- Create a safe, welcoming, and positive environment where every child feels included.
- Build strong, supportive relationships with youth while modeling respect and responsibility.
- Help maintain classroom organization and ensure students follow Club expectations.
- Participate in special events, field trips, and Club-wide activities.
- Be actively engaged with students throughout your shift—playing, teaching, mentoring, and interacting. Staff are expected to be on their feet and involved, not sitting on the sidelines.
Qualifications
- Experience working with elementary-aged children is preferred.
- Positive attitude and a genuine passion for youth development.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
- Creative, energetic, and willing to actively participate in daily activities.
- Ability to manage groups of children while maintaining a safe and structured environment.
- Must successfully pass all required background screenings.
