We are seeking a professional, educated, experienced, and dependable nanny/childcare providerto provide consistent, long-term in-home childcare support for our young child.
This position is ideal for someone who genuinely enjoys working with young children and understands the importance of active engagement, developmental play, and attentive one-on-one care. We are looking for someone who can become a trusted and consistent part of our family's routine.
The primary responsibility will be providing childcare coverage while I am occupied with meetings and other responsibilities within the home. The ideal candidate will be comfortable independently engaging with the child while maintaining a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive, hands-on supervision and care
- Provide in-home childcare coverage while the parent is occupied with meetings or other responsibilities
- Actively engage the child in age-appropriate developmental activities, including reading, music, sensory play, creative activities, movement, and educational play
- Encourage cognitive, language, social, emotional, and physical development through play and interaction
- Follow the family's established routines and parenting preferences
- Assist with snacks/meals and age-appropriate feeding as needed
- Support nap/quiet-time routines as appropriate
- Keep the child safely engaged and supervised throughout the shift
- Maintain a clean and organized play environment and clean up after child-related activities
- Communicate professionally with the parent regarding the child's activities, needs, and day
- Demonstrate consistency, reliability, and professionalism
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional nanny or childcare experience required
- CPR and First Aid certified/trained required
- Strong educational background; degree in education, early childhood development, psychology, nursing, or a related field is a plus
- Experience caring for toddlers and young children
- Strong understanding of age-appropriate developmental milestones and activities
- Excellent references from previous families or childcare employers
- Reliable and dependable with excellent attendance
- Comfortable working independently while the parent is present in the home
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patient, nurturing, energetic, and attentive
- Non-smoker
- Reliable transportation
- Willing to complete a background check
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is more than a babysitter. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned childcare professional who understands how to meaningfully engage a young child and turn everyday play into opportunities for learning and development.
We value someone who is educated, mature, proactive, warm, patient, safety-conscious, and dependable. You should be comfortable taking initiative, interacting with the child without needing constant direction, and creating a fun and enriching environment.
This is intended to be a consistent, long-term position. We are looking for someone who wants to establish a dependable relationship with our family rather than someone seeking occasional or short-term babysitting work.
Schedule
The primary availability needed is Monday through Friday between approximately 11:00 AM and 4:30 PM. The exact schedule will be coordinated in advance based on meeting schedules and mutual availability.
Although the position will generally begin at approximately 5–10 hours per week, we are specifically seeking someone interested in ongoing, long-term assistance and who can provide consistent availability during these weekday hours.
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
