Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Environmental Specialist to join our team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy environment within our facilities, particularly in hospital settings. The Environmental Specialist will ensure compliance with sanitation standards and regulations, implement effective cleaning protocols, and contribute to the overall environmental services strategy. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial cleaning and custodial services, with a strong understanding of OSHA regulations and floor care techniques.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities to ensure the entire environment is clean and in and adhering to sanitation standards.
- Implement cleaning protocols for various areas, including patient rooms, common areas, and specialized environments.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment; order as necessary to ensure adequate stock levels.
- Collaborate with other departments to address environmental concerns and improve overall facility hygiene.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations related to workplace safety and environmental health.
- Follow floor care processes to maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety.
- Maintain reports on cleaning activities, incidents, and compliance issues for management review.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in environmental services or custodial roles, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of commercial cleaning practices and sanitation standards.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations related to health and safety in the workplace.
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills with all staff members, clients and visitors.
- Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks which may include lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
