Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic House and Pet Sitter to provide exceptional care for homes and animals while owners are away. Responsibilities
- Feed, water, and administer medication to pets as needed, ensuring their health and well-being.
- Engage in dog walking, pet exercise routines, and outdoor activities to promote physical activity and mental stimulation.
- Perform animal handling tasks including dog training, animal restraint, and managing animal behavior to ensure safety for pets and caregivers alike.
- Provide overnight in-home care by staying at the client’s residence to monitor pets’ needs around the clock.
- Maintain cleanliness of pet areas, including grooming tasks such as brushing or bathing when required.
- Conduct regular household checks to ensure security, manage mail collection, plant care, and perform light housekeeping duties.
- Communicate effectively with clients about pet health status or household updates to foster trust and transparency.
Qualifications
- Prior experience with veterinary care or as a veterinary technician or assistant is highly desirable.
- Strong animal handling skills across various species including dogs, cats, and horses; experience with equine care is a plus.
- Knowledge of dog training techniques and animal behavior management.
- Ability to perform outdoor work comfortably in various weather conditions.
- Excellent client communication skills with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Physical ability to lift heavy items such as bags of pet food or supplies safely.
- Experience with pet grooming, kennel management, or heavy lifting is advantageous but not mandatory.
