Overview:
Facilitates arts engagement through the visual, literary, performing and multidisciplinary arts and/or integrative therapies including massage and mindfulness with patients, family members, visitors, healthcare staff, and the community to humanize healthcare experiences and to promote health and well-being. Ensures artistic and professional rigor and excellence in multidisciplinary and multimodal engagement. Works closely with Program Manager and Director to engage cross-sector partners to identify programmatic needs, inform program evaluation, and guide program innovation. Participates in orientation, onboarding, training, and mentorship of new artists in residence, volunteers, and students. Facilitates arts or integrative therapies engagement for healthcare workers and staff members in clinical and community settings to increase awareness of services. Participates in field building efforts in the emerging field of arts in health through research and evaluation to include documenting professional practice and dissemination through teaching, mentorship, presentation, and/or publication. Participates in strategic visioning and program planning.
Qualifications:Minimum Education and Experience Requirements::
BFA/BA/BS in arts-related field plus certificate or degree in arts in health, or equivalent professional experience. Must demonstrate professional-level proficiency in one or more artistic discipline and an understanding of evidence-based practice of arts in health. Must possess interpersonal and interprofessional communication skills, an understanding of patient-led engagement, and focus on customer service. Skilled in the use of personal computers and software applications. Will be required to complete Arts in Health Summer Intensive training program or the equivalent within six months of hire.
