**Responsibilities:**
**Job Summary:**
Join our dynamic team! The Dock/Will Call team member role at What Chefs Want acts as a support role in overseeing the on the ground operations, equipment, and regional routes of the drivers ("Route Managers"). The Dock/Will Call team member supports management of the processes and procedures of the warehouse to ensure delivery of goods and services daily to customers with an emphasis on invoice accuracy. In addition, the Dock/Will Call team member manages Will Call orders, RMA inventory in the warehouse and oversees put away of all returns as well as recording all dumps, increasing efficiency and reducing costs. Furthermore, the Dock/Will Call team member understands the responsibilities and procedures of the Route Managers; able to effectively manage the driver fleet upon return and help with any discrepancies as needed.
The Dock/Will Call team member creates value for our company by using the resources available to keep costs associated with transportation and returned inventory contained. The Dock/Will Call team member creates value for our customers by promoting What Chefs Want culture throughout the driver fleet and ensuring that issues are addressed in a timely manner to satisfy our customers. An effective Dock/Will Call team member balances the demands of the job, feedback from route managers, and ever-evolving priorities to promote a culture of engaged drivers who further promote What Chefs Want culture in their interactions with customers
Managing Route Managers/Personnel
- - Thorough understanding of team operations to offer input in decision making
- - Assists Route Managers with returns
- - Communicate with route managers including follow-ups with all RMA’s and other truck/traffic issues
- - Delegates end of shift duties to Route Managers
- - Understands the job responsibilities of the Dispatch Manager
- - Establish expectations for employee conduct and performance when it comes to inventory handling procedures
- - Creating an effective, safe work environment for all by promoting company values in word and action
Manage Company Fleet Equipment
- - Report all communicated issues in equipment/truck maintenance to appropriate channels
- - Using available resources to identify needs of facility, personnel, and equipment to accomplish necessary operational tasks
- - Ensures trucks are cleaned, parked in correct area, lights are off and keys are turned in
- - Ensures all totes are returned and clean before being put away; Maintains accountability of all totes daily
- - Assists in management of truck and customer keys
- - Assists in management of route manager phones
Manages Return Inventory/Dumps
- -Establish expectations for employee conduct and performance when it comes to inventory handling procedures
- -Ensure all meat/seafood is properly checked in and if necessary, removed from invoice
-Oversees all returns get put in the correct location/dumped; Records all dumps
- -Check in all RMA’s after every trip
- -Organizes returns pallet against load arrival for transfer
- -Complete checklist and make any notes for the Dispatch Manager
**Skills Desired**
- Employment History in Related Field/Demonstrable history of responsibility; or equivalent work experience
- Knowledge/Job Specific Competencies
- Knowledge of/Experience in warehousing/food
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written; professional and personal)
- Excel at identifying and balancing competing priorities
- Computer skills: typing proficiency, Excel, and Produce Pro and Outlook after training
PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF POSITION
- Be able to stand for 8-10 hours per shift
- Lift up to 50 lbs frequently
