Lead fun, engaging activities that support youth development and learning.
Provide a safe, inclusive, and positive environment for all participants.
Supervise children and support homework, behavior development, and social growth.
Build positive relationships with children, families, and fellow staff.
Maintain program records, supplies, and activity spaces.
Participate in trainings, meetings, and YMCA events while supporting the YMCA mission and values.
Perform other duties as assigned.
YMCA COMPETENCIES (Leader):
Adhere to YMCA policies regarding professional boundaries with youth.
Attend all required Abuse Risk Management and Child Protection trainings.
Follow established procedures for supervising children and managing high-risk activities.
Immediately report suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.
Comply with all mandated reporting requirements and child protection protocols.
Follow all YMCA and Praesidium standards related to child abuse prevention and youth protection.
Every employee shares responsibility for protecting the children and families entrusted to our care.
Must be at least 16 years of age
Meets educational and experience qualifications established by state law
CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and assigned child safety trainings
Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting preferred
Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse background
