Building Kidz Nashville is looking for a caring, dependable Toddler Teacher to join our team each afternoon. You'll help create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children ages 13 to 30 months while building meaningful relationships with children and families.
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Additional hours may be available.
Perfect for college students studying education, parents returning to the workforce, retirees, or anyone looking for a meaningful afternoon position.
Responsibilities
- Provide loving, attentive care for toddlers ages 13 to 30 months.
- Maintain Tennessee licensing ratios and safety standards.
- Lead age-appropriate play and learning activities.
- Supervise indoor and outdoor play.
- Assist with diapering, toileting, snacks, and classroom routines.
- Comfort children while encouraging independence and confidence.
- Maintain a clean, organized classroom.
- Communicate with parents during afternoon pick-up.
- Complete closing classroom duties before the end of the day.
- Work closely with the morning teacher to ensure a smooth transition.
Qualifications
Required
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Able to pass a background check and required state clearances.
- Reliable transportation and excellent attendance.
- Able to lift up to 40 pounds.
Preferred
- Experience working in a licensed childcare center.
- Experience with toddlers.
- CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain).
- CDA or Early Childhood coursework is a plus.
